Brewing, filmed

As I mentioned in this post, I was filmed brewing up a batch of pot & kettle oatmeal stout by the public access TV group French Oak TV. Stay tuned for followup segments, where Summer (the host of their show) chooses a recipe, and we brew an extract + specialty grains batch. We'll discuss ingredients, boil and fermentation in a bit more detail and compare/contrast against all grain brewing.

  1. Hey man!

Very nice episode. You did a good job of going through the steps and not saying things like "um" or "ahh" or anything like that. I'm impressed. I'm an extract brewer myself looking to get into all grain when I've got a bit more room, plus I love Oatmeal Stouts, so this was very entertaining for me. I've got a Bourbon Barrel Porter that is about 2 weeks from me tasting one and a couple months from being at its best.

I really enjoyed your video, I'm looking forward to the next one!

Grats on your recent marriage. I'm assuming she loves to enjoy your brews.

  2. Thanks for stopping by Mike...we have filmed the 1st half of the 2nd installment. We are visiting the local homebrew shop and brewing up a batch of extract hefe. More geared toward the beginning homebrewer.

she does love the beers...favorite is the honey wit and oatmeal stout + RIS. She's also turned the corner on hops...hopefully the wild/sours are next.

...but she'll be on hiatus for a bit, we're expecting our first in July.
